MEET SHARON ALAMALHODAEI, COMT, OSC, CEP
Sharon is the CEO of Eye Tech Training, having established it in 2011.
She is a nationally recognized leader in ophthalmic technician training and education. She has been IJCAHPO certified since 1994. With more than thirty years’ clinical and administrative ophthalmology experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician, Certified Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant, Clinic Manager and Practice Manager, she has extensive knowledge in the field of ophthalmic medical assisting and surgical assisting. Sharon has been training technicians for most of her career.
Sharon's first book, "How To Be The Tech Your Doctor Can't Live Without" was published in 2012. Her second book, “10 Steps to a Phenomenal Patient Experience” has been a best seller. Her newest book "A Practical Guide to Extraocular Motility Assessment for the Ophthalmic Medical Assistant" was published in 2018. Sharon has also designed a unique Clear Pupil Gauge especially designed for ophthalmic technicians' needs.
Sharon's enthusiasm for lifelong learning and ophthalmology in particular is contagious. She has conducted IJCAHPO accredited COA, COT, COMT courses and workshops for thousands of ophthalmic assistants and technicians throughout the US and overseas including at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ASOA and IJCAHPO Annual Meetings.
